Sheet Follower Press Brake

The Press Brake Sheet Follower, also known as the Press Brake Material Handling System, is designed for large sheet metal bending and helps reduce manual labor. It’s an essential accessory or aid for press brakes.

Traditionally, workers would manually support large plates during the bending process. Now, the sheet follower takes over this task, improving both efficiency and accuracy. It helps maintain precise bending angles and reads the displacement data of the Y-axis, ensuring 100% synchronization.

This system has its own control unit, so there’s no need to upgrade your press brake’s original system. It’s compatible with various types of press brakes and adjusts automatically to the height of the die and the size of the V-slot.

The equipment includes a brush table to prevent the sheet from getting scratched, slipping, or falling. It’s easy to use, flexible, and simplifies loading and unloading. It even supports multi-platform sharing with easy movement.

There’s no need to alter the press brake’s electrical system or install a magnetic scale, as it operates independently. The system is controlled via a touch-screen PLC, offering user-friendly programmable control.

For easy installation and disassembly, the trolley-type system can be equipped with ground rails.

Working Principle

A sheet metal follower is an auxiliary device used with press brakes to support large workpieces during bending operations, particularly in the final forming stages.

The Bending Sheet Follower Car is equipped with an independent control system, meaning it does not require any modifications to the press brake machine, regardless of its make or model.

The rotation and lifting are powered by a servo motor. The rotation mechanism includes a servo motor, decelerator, reduction gear, and multiple connecting rods.

There are two types of press brake lifters available: NC (Numerical Control) and CNC (Computer Numerical Control).

As the workpiece is bent, the supporting plate automatically adjusts to follow the bending process. The angle and speed are calculated and controlled by the sheet follower's control system.

The CNC Press Brake Sheet Follower & Press Brake Bending Follower Support is compatible with any brand of press brake, requiring no modifications to the machine.
