How to Choose Press Brake Punch and Die for a Beginner?

Press brake is an important bending machine for a fabrication plant.

If you just buy a press brake machine ,what press brake punch and die you should match?

Firstly choose a standard punch and die.The low die v block open is 6-8 *plate thickness.

There are some types of press brake punches.Standard punch,sharp angle punch,gooseneck punch and so on.

Standard punch can bend 90-180 degree.It is for common use.

Then choose a sharp punch ,it can bend 20 -180 degree.It is suitable for bending small angle.

The bending R is small and sharp and be beautiful.

Then choose a gooseneck.It can bend 30 degree to 180 degee.It is suitable for bending U shape.

The opening width of the lower mold groove, in mm: The width of the lower mold groove needs to be calculated

based on the plate thickness and width S, and the specific formula is as follows:

S≤3mm V=(6~8)x S

S>3mm V=(8~12)x S

Due to the different workpieces required by each manufacturer, the minimum bending width and bending angle may vary. These two values also determine the opening width of the lower mold slot. During the bending process, the bending force is concentrated on the workbench and mold, so it is crucial to calculate the bending force that the mold can withstand, otherwise the mold will be damaged due to inability to withstand the bending force.
