press brake punch and die, press brake tooling

1.Press brake raw materail

Common press brake tooling is T8,T8A,T10,42CrMo,Cr12Mov.When choose press brake tooling raw materail,it needs to think about hardness, heat resistance, wear resistance. We normal choose T8-T12 carbon steel.T10 is choosed mostly. It has moderate toughness and good wear resistance. After heat treatness ,the hardness can reach 60HRC.Its production cost is low.It is widely used in NC Press Brake.

Another common press brake tooling raw materail is 42CrMo.42CrMo  is ultra high-strength steel. It has high H strength and toughness.

The quenching property is also good. After quenching and tempering, it has relatively high Fatigue limit and multiple impact resistance, and can work below 500 ℃. After heat treatment, the hardness is between 45-48HRC.Most cnc press brake use 42CrMov.

Types of press brake punch and die

There are many types of bending molds, generally including standard upper molds for right angle bending, sharp knife upper molds, flattening knife molds, R-shaped knife molds, offset upper molds, single V lower molds, double V lower molds, 3U, 4V lower molds, Uni rubber lower molds, hard rubber lower molds, lower mold guide rails, lower mold seats, segment difference bending molds, combination bending molds, scratch free bending molds, etc.

1. Ordinary standard upper and lower molds: used for bending 90 ° -180 °. Advantages: Universal use of thick and thin plates, durable.

2. Sharp blade mold: used for bending at an angle of 20 ° -180 °. Advantages: It can bend smaller angles and sizes, with a smaller R-curve after bending, beautiful appearance, and clear edges and corners.

3. Big curved knife (gooseneck mold): also known as a big curved knife, used for bending 30 ° -180 °. Advantages; Used for standard and pointed molds to complete U-shaped products, widely applicable.

4. Flattening mold: used to pat dead edges, suitable for matching with pointed molds. First, use a sharp knife mold to bend the workpiece to an angle of less than 45 °, and then use a flattening mold to press the dead edge, mainly used for strengthening the frame.

5. Breaking die: (Z) mainly used for one-time bending of small-sized "Z" shaped workpieces, divided into fixed and adjustable types.

6. Forming mold: (including arc mold, door frame one-time forming mold, U-shaped mold, lamp pole mold, etc.) is usually used for complex product bending, and also includes various bending angles and styles to design a one-time bending

Forming mold, in order to improve bending accuracy and efficiency.

7. The same core mold: usually refers to the lower mold used for supporting the numerical control Press brake, which consists of a mold holder and a segmented lower mold. The same core refers to that no matter any notch is used, it is only necessary to change to the specified notch, without re centering the position of the upper and lower molds. It is very convenient to change the mold and has high processing precision.
