1. Factors determining the minimum L-fold

The middle distance of the V-groove of small press brake low die is the suspended section, and when forming, the folded edge must exceed this suspended section. The specific edge size varies slightly among different companies. Due to the longer use of the V-groove, the R angle increases, and the edge distance will also increase, otherwise it will slide.

Conversion formula (empirical formula).6*T/2+0.5+(1.8*T/2)

As shown in the figure below, T=1, K=1.8 * 1, minimum L fold: 3+0.5+0.9=4.4

Types of u bending

A.Conventional bending knife molding.

Factors that determine the minimum U-fold

A. The shape of the upper mold. (As shown below) From the perspective of conventional tools, the best tool for small U-folding is the "curved knife". (There are many models of machetes, the specific size depends on the company's existing size)

 

B. Hem size. (See the small picture below) The ladder-increasing relationship between the two dimensions:

Conversion formula: (Experienced scimitar type)

 

 0.5MM thickness steel plate:

 

Minimum U-fold A size=7.67. B size = 0.5 board minimum L fold 3.0.

 

Added value of ladder: A size adds 1MM per ladder, B size corresponds to a ladder adding 1.87.

 

Formula: Given the size of A, find the size of B = (A-7.67)/T*ladder value + minimum L fold of the plate thickness. For example: when A=15, B=(15-7.67)/0.5*1.87+3.0=30.4

 

Given the size of B, find the size of A = (B - the minimum L fold of the plate thickness) / ladder value * T + 7.67. For example: when B = 30.4, A = (30.4-3) / 1.87 * 0.5 + 7.67 = 15


0.8MM thickness steel plate:

 

Minimum U fold A size = 8.5, B size = 0.8, minimum L fold 4.2.

 

Elevator value added: 1.87/0.5*0.8=2.99

 

1.0MM thickness steel plate:

 

Minimum U fold A size = 8.94, B size = 1.0 Minimum L fold 4.5

 

Ladder value added: 1.87/0.5*1.0=3.7

 

1.2MM thickness steel plate:

 

Minimum U fold A size = 9.3, B size = 1.2 Minimum L fold 4.5

 

Ladder value added: 1.87/0.5*1.2=4.5

 

1.5MM thickness steel plate:

 

Minimum U fold A size = 10.3, B size = 1.5 Minimum L fold 6.2

 

Ladder value added: 1.87/0.5*1.5=5.5

 

 2.0MM thickness steel plate:

 

Minimum U fold A size = 12.7, B size = 2.0 Minimum L fold 12.0

 

Ladder value added: 1.87/0.5*2=7.4

When H >= to 5T, it is calculated as two 90-degree bends.

 

When H <5T, it will be molded in one step (ie: pressing steps, not included in the minimum calculation range)

2.The factors that affect the minimum Z-fold are mainly the V width of the lower V groove and the distance from the V groove to the edge.

3.Calculation formula: 6*T/2+V groove margin+(1.8*T/2)+T (Attached is the picture on the right): 1.0 board uses V6 to lower the V groove, and the margin is 1.5.
